Create an immersive watercolor invitation experience by transforming your invitation into a folded piece. Gatefolds allow your watercolor venue artwork to encapsulate your entire invitation as a work of art, with watercolor on the outside and back of the piece as well as the inner panels.
Gatefolds keep the invitation design printed on the main inner panel of the piece, then closes with two panels on either side. With your response card and additional cards housed inside the gatefold, your invitation unbundles the suite in its entirety when opened.
You must book with your invitation order.
Adding a custom watercolor gatefold adds 4-5 weeks of design and artwork creation to your overall design timeline. After that 4-5 weeks, we will email you a proof of your entire suite with the gatefold, showing the front, back and inner panels. Once approved, printing will begin.
Digital Printing requires up to three weeks upon approval before shipping to you.
We ship all items via UPS ground, and you will receive a tracking number the moment it leaves our studio.
Don't forget to factor in any assembly time. Gatefolds do arrive with scoring for easy folding, but are flat. You will need to fold and enclose any insert cards for your suite, and if embellishments are included in your order, assemble those as well.

Can the outside of the gatefold be blank? Yes! Just choose 'Leave Front Blank' as your option on the form included with this listing.
Does pricing include the custom watercolor?
It does! Simply select your quantity and size above, and pricing at the top of the page will calculate for you.
Can the inside panels be blank? Yes! Just choose 'Leave Panels Blank' as your option on the form included with this listing.
Will my smaller cards fit inside the gatefold? Yes! You'll stack those cards inside the fold, and then use wax seals, ribbon or a bellyband to close the gatefold invitation.
Can I put details about the wedding on the inner panels? Yes! You will have a place to note this on the order form.

Bring your Venue to Life
Our in-house artist, Kathryn, brings you an exclusive artwork process and style you simply won't find elsewhere. Simply upload reference photos on the provided order form, and give us any specifics there as well. Kathryn will take these details and create a watercolor for your gatefold that considers the overall layout, as well as your selected invitation ink color, resulting in a one-of-a-kind invitation suite. You will be able to see a digital proof of the entire piece, and once approved, we will begin the printing process.
This level of customization is one of the most thoughtful additions we offer within our collection, and truly makes for a memorable suite.
Embellishment Offerings
The gatefold design will stay closed within the envelope, arriving to your guests completely closed and safely housing any inserts in your suite. But if you are looking for a way to add a little extra touch, we offer three sizes of wax seals in with your selection of wax color and design detailing. Clients also love binding gatefolds with Silk Ribbon, and our order form will have a checkbox for drilling holes if you choose to tie your gatefold closed.
